What the HR Briefing is

The HR Briefing is the email side of this site. Every free template here, the outline of a works council AI agreement, the AI policy structure, the decision matrix for interim, fractional or a permanent hire, comes by email, personally, within one working day. The address you give lands in the list for that topic, and that list is where the notes go afterwards.

The notes are short. Two or three paragraphs, one subject, written the way I would brief a managing director before a meeting: what changed, why it matters for a company of your size in Germany, what I would do. Where the subject is legal, the note says what practice does with it and points to a lawyer for the decision. Where it is about AI, it says which tools and which data, not which vendor.

There is no editorial calendar. A note goes out when a topic moves. In a quiet quarter that may be nothing. When a new ruling changes how works councils can challenge an HR system, it is a note the same week.

What arrives, by topic

Four topic lists, kept separate. You are on the one whose template you requested, and nothing else:

Interim and fractional HR

How engagements are structured, day-rate logic, status questions for fractional work, what changes when a permanent hire is found. For leaders weighing the three models.

Works council and employment law

Rulings and changes that affect co-determination, dismissals, fixed-term and agency work. Practice notes, with the reminder that a lawyer decides the individual case.

AI in HR

What the EU AI Act and GDPR mean for HR tools in practice, which routines are worth building first, how the works council agreement process is going in real engagements.

The fourth list, restructuring, is smaller and receives notes on social plans, selection criteria and the timeline realities of a headcount reduction in Germany. It is the list I write least often and most carefully.

How to get in

The direct way is one of the free templates. Each one puts you on the matching topic list, and each one is a document you can use on Monday:

  1. Works council AI agreement outlineThe structure of an agreement on AI in HR, section by section, from the use-case inventory to the review clause. Topic: AI in HR.
  2. AI policy for HR teamsThe eight core points of a policy the employer issues before or instead of an agreement, as a template. Topic: AI in HR.
  3. Decision matrix: interim, fractional or permanentThe criteria that decide which model fits your gap, filled in for the three typical situations. Topic: interim and fractional HR.
  4. Or sign up directly belowIf you want the briefing without a template, the form on this page puts you on the general HR Briefing list, from which you can pick a topic in the first note.

The templates and where to find them: The Works Council AI Agreement, An AI Policy for HR Teams, Interim, Fractional, or a Permanent Hire, and the routine pages such as AI for Job Ads.

Privacy and unsubscribe

Your address is stored for one purpose: sending you the template you asked for and the notes on that topic. It is not passed on, not sold, not merged with other lists, and not used for advertising on other platforms. The technical sending runs through a European email provider under a data processing agreement, as Article 28 of the GDPR requires. The full details are in the privacy policy.

Leaving is one click. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately, without a login and without a reason. If you prefer, reply to any note and I remove you myself the same day. Your address is then deleted from the list, not parked.

Frequently asked questions

How often does the HR Briefing arrive?

When there is something to say on your topic. In practice that is a handful of times a year per topic: a court decision, a change in the law, a lesson from an engagement that is worth passing on. Never on a fixed weekly slot, and never to fill a slot.

Do I get everything, or only my topic?

Only your topic. Someone who requested the works council AI agreement outline gets notes on AI and co-determination. Someone who requested the interim decision matrix gets notes on interim and fractional models. The lists are separate.

Is it written in English?

Yes, if you signed up through an English page. The notes are written for international leaders of companies in Germany, with German legal terms explained where they appear.

Is this sales email?

No. Each note is a short piece of practical HR knowledge. My contact details are at the end, as on every page of this site, and that is the extent of it.

How do I unsubscribe?

Every email has an unsubscribe link, one click, no questions. Or reply to any note and I remove you myself the same day.
