The Notice Period Timeline Calculator
"When do I actually need to resign if I want to start my new job on a specific date?" This tool works it out for you and builds a full application timeline, worked backward from your start date. Built for German notice periods (§ 622 BGB), useful whether you’re a native or an international professional working in Germany.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored or transmitted.
Your situation
Your notice period is set out in your employment contract. If it isn't, the statutory German notice period applies. Extended periods after long tenure usually apply only to the employer; for you, the contractual period normally still counts.
Not legal advice: what matters is your employment or collective agreement and the actual date your resignation arrives with your employer. When in doubt, have your contract reviewed.
The timeline is set. What about the substance?
A date in your calendar doesn’t help if your CV, LinkedIn profile, and interview performance aren’t ready. In the free Career Quick Check (30 minutes), we’ll look together at whether you’re truly ready for your timeline.
