What Does Career Coaching Actually Cost?

Three factors explain most of the price difference between providers: scope (a single session versus multi-month support), the coach's background (a certified systemic coach versus a practitioner with hiring-manager experience), and funding (paid privately or subsidized through a German employment agency voucher, the AVGS).

A single coaching session usually falls between €150 and €300. Multi-month programs with ongoing support commonly sit in the mid to upper four-figure range. AVGS-funded offers can even be free for you as the job seeker, but you need a valid voucher and a provider with AZAV accreditation, which narrows the field considerably.

The price alone tells you little as long as the scope stays vague. Two €1,500 packages can cover completely different things: one might be a single document review, the other weekly support over several months including interview prep and salary negotiation.

So ask directly: how many sessions or weeks are included? Are documents written once, or adapted per application? Is interview prep part of the package or a separate line item? What happens if you're not done once the term ends?

Not everyone needs multi-month support right away. Whether a package or a single service makes more sense depends less on budget than on how many things are open at once.
